Cindy Jasper-Parisey is the Middle School/Upper School Librarian at 
Cincinnati Country Day School. Cindy also has a small graphics and photo 
company, You're On It! and coordinates the school yearbook. This 
workshop is the outcome of two seemingly divergent careers that actually 
do overlap.


      Description

Libraries of every kind can benefit from some PR. A color printer, some 
software and willingness to learn will allow you to accomplish a lot 
in-house and on a budget. This workshop will cover basic design and 
photography concepts, available graphics software, promotional ideas and 
how to communicate with a printing company. The hands-on portion will 
include working with MS Publisher for brochures and designing an ALA 
READ poster. Attendees may bring a digital photograph of their own to 
work with or one will be provided.


      Meal

Light snacks will be provided


      Audience

This workshop is open to all levels of library staff and is geared 
toward libraries that need to create promotional materials in-house
