POSITION AVAILABLE:  CLERK-TREASURER/FISCAL OFFICER

 

General Information:

The Logan County District Library System seeks a full-time
Clerk-Treasurer/Fiscal Officer to manage its financial operations.  The
Clerk-Treasurer is responsible for the Library's $4 million annual
budget and investments.  The Logan County District Library System is a
county district library comprised of the main library and six branch
libraries with 40+ employees serving a district with 45,000 population.

 

The Clerk-Treasurer serves as the chief financial officer of the Library
and ensures that the financial operations comply with all applicable
laws and regulations, the policies of the Board of Trustees and sound
financial practices.  The position acts as the chief purchasing agent
for the Library and coordinates staff payroll processing and benefits
management.  The position is appointed by and reports to the Board of
Trustees pursuant to Section 3375.32 of the Ohio Revised Code.  

 


Minimum Education, Experience, and Training


       DESIRED:

*         Bachelor's degree in business/finance or accounting or related
field from an accredited university or equivalent experience

*         CPA certification or certification by GFOA 

*         Three to five years of progressive accounting experience in an
accounting environment 

*         Knowledge of CMI software and governmental fund accounting
experience 

*         Previous computer accounting and budgeting experience in
public finance administration required with governmental or public
library fund accounting experience 

*         Pre-employment tests which are directly related to the
position responsibilities may be administered

       REQUIRED:

*         Must be bonded by the Library's bonding company

*         Successfully pass a Bureau Criminal Investigate background
check

*         Familiarity with the accounting packages used by public
governmental entities preferred
