Program Description:
Paul Immel, Research Services Librarian, State Library of Ohio, will give a
brief presentation on the topic: "What are the Challenges Facing
Genealogical Collections in Public Libraries, Today and Tomorrow?" This talk
will focus on the present state of "traditional" family history collections
and their role as a partner in the rising electronic information world. The
current needs of print and microform collections, the digitization trend,
and the importance of collaboration between libraries will be highlighted.
Please bring your questions, concerns, needs and ideas for an open and
informative moderated discussion to follow.
