[OPLINLIST] Stumper, continued....

Hello,
   
  We are still on the lookout for the title of this stumper.  Each time the patron and I speak, she gives me more things that she has remembered from the book and/or the stories contained in the book.
   
  Yellow cover she remembers.  Something to do with a carnival or fair.  Alliteration in the title.  Humorous stories, and the characters had strange names.
   
  The latest tidbits that she laid on me are:  these stories had the air of fairy tales or legends.  It is possible that they were retold stories, and she remembers something akin to the Hunchback of Notre Dame in one.
   
  I am hoping that these additional details wlll help bring us closer to a solution to this stumper.  Titles we have ruled out:  The Name of this Book is Secret (TOO new), The Big Joke Game by Scott Corbett, The World's Greatest Toe Show by Nancy Lamb and The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews Edwards.
