As previously announced (http://www.oplin.org/new.php) the statewide
subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica will be replaced by World Book
starting July 1.

We have been getting questions about what will be included in the new World
Book package. The simple answer is "everything that World Book currently has
online."

The contract has not yet been signed, but World Book has specifically
proposed to provide the World Book Complete Suite plus L'Encyclopedie
Decouverte plus World Book Research Tools Edition, which includes World Book
Kids, World Book Online Reference Center, World Book Reference Tools
Edition, World Book Advanced, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, and
L'Encyclopedie Decouverte. Their web page describing the World Book Web
Complete Suite is at http://www.worldbookonline.com/sales/products?id=XWBC.

One thing not included is the newest World Book product called Discover,
which is due out at the end of June. There is a preview site available now:
www.worldbookonline.com/discover.

Libraries that have already paid for a World Book online subscription are
eligible for a pro-rated credit for either print products or the new
Discover. This can be arranged by contacting your local representative at
1-800-975-3250; press 1 to connect to your rep.
