[OPLINLIST] LearningExpress Library - Job and Career Accelerator

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that the State Library
Board recently approved a $75,000 IMLS LSTA grant to expand the
LearningExpress Library service to include a new Job and Career
Accelerator section starting January 2010. The LearningExpress Job &
Career Accelerator(tm) provides personalized, step-by-step job search
assistance for all levels of job seekers.  Job seekers can explore
suitable occupations from over 1,000 detailed occupation profiles and
find available jobs in their area from a database of over 5 million
up-to-date job postings.  With Job & Career Accelerator, users can
easily create professional targeted resumes, master interviewing
techniques, improve work related skills and prepare for
occupation-related exams. In addition, it helps job seekers plan,
tailor, and track multiple job searches at the same time while providing
expert advice and tips each step of the way. 

 

In order to become more familiar with Job & Career Accelerator,
LearningExpress created a special trial site for the Ohio library
community. Accounts created on this special trail site will be active
until January 2010 at which time, the new service will be made available
to all residents of Ohio accessible through the State Library of Ohio's
subscription to LearningExpress Library. 

 

You will find more information and a Pre-Launch guide on WebJunction
Ohio <http://oh.webjunction.org/ohjac/> . Additional information and
resources about the Job and Career Accelerator, including opportunities
to participate in online trainings, will be available soon.

 

The following pre-launch access information is only for staff working in
libraries and library organizations in Ohio.

You can register for your trial account using the following
instructions: 

 

1. Logon to www.learningexpresslibrary.com 

2. Click the "Register" button under the "New Users" section at the
bottom of the page 

3. Enter JCA in the username field plus 4 additional alphanumeric
characters (example: JCA1234). Your username must be exactly 7
characters in length 

4. Create a password (passwords must be at least 6 characters long, they
can be alphanumeric, and they cannot contain spaces) 

5. Verify your password 

6. Click the "Register" button 

7. Choose your library: JCA Ohio 

8. Click the "Continue" button 

9. Print/save the registration confirmation page 

10. For future logins, you will enter the site as a "Returning User" on
the homepage using the username & password you have just created. Each
user should create a unique username & password using the instructions
provided above. 

11. Once you have successfully logged into LearningExpress Library using
your trial account username that you just created, click on the Job &
Career Accelerator Link in the upper left hand corner of LearningExpress
Library.
