[OPLINLIST] bookwrap reductions?

We have always wrapped our book jackets, to protect and to preserve.  We are
considering not covering the books (mostly children's) that have the same
cover underneath as the book jacket, mostly to save $$.  Do you find you are
not getting as many circs out of a non-covered book?  I think the children's
books get harder wear than any other but I am willing to give it a try.
