To Ohio Public Library Directors

The Choose to Read Ohio (http://oh.webjunction.org/ohctrointro) program
was kicked off on Saturday, May 9th at the Ohioana Book festival. Choose
to Read Ohio is a project of the State Library of Ohio designed to
promote reading across Ohio. We hope to connect children, families, and
all Ohioans in the experience of sharing literature together.

The CTRO program has one main goal which is to encourage the reading of
books together across Ohio communities. Ohio's citizens of all ages will
choose to read a title together over a six week period between National
Library Week, (April, 2009) and the end of 2010. Choose to Read Ohio
encourages Ohioans to Read Together, Read Ohio, and Read for Life.

We have produced posters to support CTRO programs locally. If you would
like to receive posters please contact Missy Lodge at
mlodge at sloma.state.oh.us or Marsha McDevitt Stredney at
marshams at sloma.state.oh.us To view the posters go to:
http://oh.webjunction.org/ctropromtion We also have a limited number of
bookmarks available to those who wish to use them. You can view these as
well at the promotion page. These will be distributed on a first come
first serve basis. All materials will be shipped via U.S. Cargo.

Or you may prefer to download the poster and bookmark located on the
CTRO promotions page and customize them for your library.

We hope you will take advantage of this program which encourages
discussion of books in a variety of settings - local public libraries,
schools, churches, daycares, or other organizations.

If you have questions about the CTRO program please contact Ruth
Metcalf, rmetcalf at sloma.state.oh.us (through June 30) or Missy Lodge,
mlodge at sloma.state.oh.us.
