Due to retirement, the position of Children's and Teen Services
Coordinator will be open in January 2010 at Troy-Miami County Public
Library. This position coordinates and directs programs of service to
children and teens and provides support to those working with children
and teens; develops and proposes service programming, policies and
procedures; monitors the quality and effectiveness of existing programs
and practices; and supervises collection development of children's and
teen materials. An MLS from an ALA accredited institution or a Master's
Degree in Education, as well as at least two years working with youth in
a library or educational environment is preferred. A complete job

The library also is hiring an Outreach Services Coordinator. This is a
great opportunity for a self-starter to re-introduce outreach services
to Miami County. This position was eliminated in July due to budget cuts
but is being restored with levy funding. We are very excited to be able
to bring it back! The primary responsibility of this position is
managing the operations of the Outreach Services Department as well as
coordinating system-wide outreach to selected populations.
Qualifications for this job include an ALA accredited MLS or related
Master's Degree or equivalent experience; a minimum of one year
professional library reference experience; a minimum of one year of
supervisory experience; and the ability to drive the bookmobile or other
library vehicles if needed. Again, the complete job description is
