What's New at the State Library of Ohio ... from our Media Center

 

State Library Board member Dr. George Paulson Recognized for Years of
Service <http://library.ohio.gov/Marketing/PR/2010/December#Paulson> 

After ten years of service, Board Member Dr. George Paulson's term
concludes at the end of 2010. Dr. Paulson's tenure included service as
President of the State Library Board from 2007 to 2009 and
Vice-President from 2003 to 2005 and 2006 to 2007. At the December
meeting Board President Lynn Grimshaw read the retirement resolution
expressing gratitude, recognition his significant contributions, and
"superlative experience and expertise from his tenure as Chair of the
Medical Advisory Board for the Medical Heritage Center of the Ohio State
University Prior Health Sciences Library, Chair of the Medical Library
Board for the Ohio State University Medical Center, and member of the
Ohio State University Libraries Rare Book Committee."  

 

State Library Board awards $27,365 in Federal LSTA Grants to Libraries
for Choose to Read Ohio Projects

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce that the State Library
Board recently awarded $27,365 in special Choose to Read Ohio LSTA
grants <http://www.library.ohio.gov/lpd/lsta>  to eight libraries. 
Choose to Read Ohio <http://oh.webjunction.org/ohctrointro> , a project
of the State Library of Ohio and its partner Ohioana, is a statewide
initiative to encourage the reading of Ohio literature together across
Ohio communities. The libraries receiving grants include Fairland Local
Schools, Guernsey County District Library, the Ida Rupp Public Library
(Port Clinton), the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library, the Mary
L. Cook Public Library (Waynesville), the Westerville Public Library,
and the Wood County District Public Library (Bowling Green). more...
