[OPLINLIST] Telephone Notices

Tamara
GCPL has used telenotices for 10 years or so ( both DRA and III) and I can't see any reason to discontinue this service.
While the number of emails we do does increase, there will always be patrons who do not use email and telenotices is a cost-effective way to reach them. And the III telenotice system seems to work pretty well since on an average day we make 500 calls and fail on less then 25. When we have patron complaints, which is seldom, we just move the patron to paper notices.

Subject: [OPLINLIST] Telephone Notices

Has anyone stopped sending out telephone notices for items on reserve and/or
overdue notices? Did this impact a large portion of your patron base?

Currently, we are still sending out 25% of our notices by phone (versus
email.) We are looking at the possibilities of eliminating this service and
are wondering if other libraries have recently gone through this transition.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
