[OPLINLIST] Ohio Connecting to Collections documents available

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) created the
Connecting to Collections initiative to raise awareness about the risk
to America's cultural heritage and to prompt action for its preservation
and conservation.

 

The Ohio Heritage Partnership is a collaborative effort of the State
Library of Ohio and the Ohio Historical Society, with project support
from the Intermuseum Conservation Association.  The Ohio Connecting to
Collections program included a web-based survey, a Summit Meeting of
cultural heritage leaders from around the state and a series of regional
meetings held across the state in summer 2010.  

Notification on the survey was sent to over 700 institutions and the
response rate was 41%.  Additionally, 11 telephone surveys were
conducted so that all 88 Ohio counties were included in the survey
responses.  Attendance at the invitation-only Summit was 49 and
attendance at the Regional Meetings totaled 110.  Summaries of all

particular interest is the document, "Ohio Connecting to Collections
Statewide Preservation Survey Results".

The project partners are now developing the Ohio Cultural Heritage
Strategic Plan to begin to address and implement the needs articulated
through the survey and meetings.  If you have any comments on the
