[OPLINLIST] Invitation to the opening reception of Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Emancipation

You are cordially invited to the opening reception and program of the
exhibition "Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Emancipation" on
Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the State Library of
Ohio located at 274 East 1st Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.

 

The program will feature Lincoln-era music from the Fort Hayes High
School String Quartet, remarks from State Representative Mark Okey, a
recitation of speeches by Abraham Lincoln Impersonator Robert Brugler,
and featured remarks from Hasan Kwame Jeffries, Ph.D.  The winner of a
poster contest for students of the Columbus College of Art & Design will
be announced.  Attendees will be able to browse the exhibit's
reproduction of historical documents and view objects from the
collections of the State Library of Ohio, the Ohio Historical Society,
and more.  The exhibit will also feature materials illustrating
President Lincoln's strong political ties to Ohio.

The exhibit will be on display at the State Library of Ohio from March 7
- April 15, 2011, Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
