*Position*: Head of Youth Services, Assistant Manager



*Library*: Chardon Public Library (Geauga County Public Library)



*Salary:* $38,480



*Qualifications*: ALA Accredited MLS degree and library experience required.


Experience in monitoring materials budgets, book selection, and collection
development with specialization in children’s and young adult materials and
services

Knowledge of the developmental needs and interests of youth

Strong public service skills

Strong reader’s advisory skills

Ability to work with people of all ages including staff, volunteers, and the
general public

Working knowledge of PCs and software

Experience with electronic reference sources

Able to apply new technologies to enhance and promote the services of the
department and the library

Keeps up to date with innovations in the library field and how they will
impact library services and collection development



*Duties:* In addition to fulfilling responsibilities in the absence of the
Library Manager, oversees all aspects of youth services including staff
training, collection development, weeding, and children’s programming.
Supervises staff of five. Provides direct reference service and readers
advisory services.



*Scheduling Needs:* Schedule includes full days with at least one evening
per week

and Saturday and Sunday rotation.
