[OPLINLIST] Teen Librarian position available at the Granville Public Library

The Granville Public Library is seeking a Teen Librarian. This is a
full-time position of 38 hours per week including two evenings per week
(Tuesday and Wednesday until 9:00 p.m.) and every other Saturday.

 

DUTIES.  

 

The Teen Librarian provides services to teens, including collection
development, readers' advisory, social networking, programming, and
information services.  Said Librarian will also assist the Head of
Information/Programming Services and the Head of Children's Services in the
provision of information and programming services to library users of all
ages and performing public service activities as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS.  

 

.         Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school,
and

.         A minimum of one (1) year of library experience, or

.         An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

The ideal candidate will:

 

.         Have a strong public service orientation.

.         Have knowledge of youth and teen literature.

.         Have experience in providing all types of programming for teens.

.         Be detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated.

.         Have excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills.

.         Be enthusiastic, friendly, and have a sense of humor.

.         Be proficient with technology and experienced with computers and
computer software, including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.

.         Have experience using Horizon integrated library system.

.         Be flexible and forward-thinking.

.         The beginning salary for this position is $33,177.  A
