  Reference/Teen Librarian (Full time 35 hours per week) Canal Fulton Public Library Performs Reference desk functions such as answering reference questions in person, by telephone or by email under the direction of the Head of Reference utlizing the library's materials collection, online catalog and databases, Internet and local history resources. Masters of Library Science preferred, or Bachelor's degree with library experience. Basic Duties: staffs reference desk, reader's advisor:both adults and teens, assist in delivery to homebound patrons, contributing to the library's website-news, events, programs and activitites, computer related duties:  offers basic instruction to patrons on the use of public computers, Internet, databases, and online card catalog, continuing education:  attend workshops to keep apprised of new technology, Teen Programming:  plan, promote (create press releases), and implement programs for teens, oversee the Teen Advisory Board and act as liason to the area schools, Collection development:  responsible for selecting materials for the teen collection.  Assists Head of Reference with the evaluation, selection and weeding of the Adult collection, programming:  assists with planning, promoting and implementing programs for adults, Committee/Community work:  participates in various library committees, annual Old Canal Days festival.
