[OPLINLIST] Sherlock Holmes Exhibit and Staged Dramatic Readings--McArthur, Ohio

*Weeks preceding Literary Arts Festival packed with activities*

"/A Spring Literary Arts Festival: The Plot Thickens/" in McArthur, Ohio 
will begin days before the festival with several themed activities. Most 
events will be held at the Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library and many are 
free to the public.

"A Careful Examination of the Room," an exhibit of the famous study of 
Sherlock Holmes' flat at 221B Baker Street and a framed poster display 
featuring mystery writers and famous mystery and detective characters 
from literature and film, will be on display in the meeting room of the 
library through Saturday, April 14. This exhibit is sponsored in part by 
the Friends of the Library, the Vinton County Fair Housing Office, and 
Jim Wooddell of Remember When...Antiques and More.

There will be two evenings of dramatic adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan 
Doyle's "The Painful Predicament," "How Watson Learned the Trick," and 
"The Crown Diamond," performed by the Friends' Community Players (FCP) 
in the meeting room of the library on Wednesday, March 21 and Monday, 
April 2 at 6:30 p.m.Since seating is limited, free tickets will be 
available at the library's circulation desk.Two additional evenings of 
dramatic adaptations of Agatha Christie's amateur spinster sleuth, Miss 
Jane Marple, in "The Tuesday Night Club" and "Death by Drowning" will be 
performed by the FCP in the meeting room of the library on Wednesday, 
March 28 and Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the library, 
there will be a special screening of the film /Murder by Death/, a 1976 
comedy film written by Neil Simon, that spoofs the traditional 
country-house whodunit. The cast includes Peter Falk, Alec Guinness, 
David Niven, Peter Sellers, Maggie Smith, and several others.This film 
is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 34 minutes.

             These events are all free and open to the public.

/A Spring Literary Arts Festival: The Plot Thickens is sponsored by the 
Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library and the Friends of the Herbert Wescoat 
Memorial Library in McArthur, Ohio. Major events will begin on Monday,
