Hello!
I have been on this list for a while and have appreciated all that you share. So I was going to pick your brain one more time. As a Northwest regional director for Ohio Library Educational Media Association (OELMA) we work to present a couple of workshops every year in our region (NW). We are looking at >

*Rigorous Learning: An Introduction to the Ohio Learning Standards and
21st Century Skills

> The Ohio Learning Standards include the Common Core standards and
> promote college and career readiness, K-12. The new Ohio Learning
> Standards also include a mandated Third Grade Reading Guarantee, a
> demand for higher graduation rates, and higher requirements for
> college admission. Ohio teachers and librarians face state and
> national changes which call for an increased focus on research,
> literacy, text complexity and rigorous learning. This session is an
> introduction to the standards and will include definitions of
> important terms used in the standards such as text complexity and
> academic vocabulary. The requirements of the Third Grade Reading
> Guarantee will be outlined. There will be a brief overview of the
> INFOhio resources available to help students, teachers, and librarians
> meet the standards. (The 7:00 session will go into more depth about
> the resources and allow for some hands-on experience if you bring your
> own
> device.)

AND

*Future Ready: Preparing for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee and College/ Career Readiness with INFOhio Resources *
>
> Once you know about the standards, what can you do to help your
> students and teachers meet the new requirements? INFOhio resources are
> designed to assist you. INFOhio has created powerful tools that you
> can add to your educational backpack to prepare students for the Third
> Grade Reading Guarantee and for college and careers. Join this session
> to learn about the wide array of INFOhio tools and resources available
> to help your students and teachers be ready for the future.

And wondering if this would be something public and academic librarians in Northwest Ohio would be interested in attending? If so, is there a public library that would be centrally located in the northwest region (From Hardin to Williams to Huron basically) that could host this? We are hoping for 20-30 librarians.

If you would rather respond off list my email is dreynolds at findlaycityschools.org<mailto:dreynolds at findlaycityschools.org>
Thank You in advance for this consideration,
Debbie Reynolds
