East & Central Children's Summer Reading Workshops
East: March 6th, at Clermont County Public Library , Three library systems present aspects of their children's summer reading programs : Adams County, Wilmington, and The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
After this morning session, everyone has a seat on the panel for an hour-long idea share . Listen in as others share their programs, projects or crafts. Read full details and register here: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=413

Central: March 11th, at Washington-Centerville Public Library , the morning schedule is the same as the East workshop, but with three different libraries showcasing their summer reading programs : MidPointe Library, Washington-Centerville Library, Bradford Public Library.
As in the East, the morning showcase will be followed by an idea share where you can gather lots of new ideas to use. Register here for the morning: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=424
In the afternoon, Alice Beresford will teach you to play a baritone ukelele . This is a beginner's class, so no previous experience or special skills are required. The cost of this afternoon session includes a ukelele to take home, as well! Register here for the afternoon: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=430

SWON's 2013 Teen Reading Challenge

Last year, 200 people read over 3,500 teen-oriented books in the Teen Reading Challenge. Why? To discover new books to recommend and to win the trophy of their names followed by exclamation points!!!

This year there's even more to love about the Challenge. We've partnered with LibraryThing.com to create team accounts, so you can share your book reviews and see what your team mates have read simply by logging in. Fun, useful, and free. See if you have the speed-reading (and catchy team-naming) skills to top the charts in this year's Challenge.

Get your team registered now: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=437 . Read as many pages as you can between February 1st and April 30th. Enrobe yourself in book-reading glory!
