[OPLINLIST] circulating laptops

Hello all,
My library owns 10 laptops bought through a grant program, and we are
considering allowing patrons to "check them out" and use them within
designated areas of the building while leaving a state issued picture ID
with staff.  For those of you from libraries who circulate laptops, what
has been your experience?  Do you install Deep Freeze software on them?  If
not, how do you maintain them?
