When a disabled person visits your library, you may feel handicapped in your ability to help that person. How should you approach them? What should you say? Where do you look? What if you aren't sure if a person is disabled? 

Kindly ask, "Is there something you need?" Just like you would ask anyone else. If a patron has a helper with them, ask the patron questions, not the helper. It's good to be sensitive to a patron's needs, but don't be so sensitive that you stop treating a patron as a person.
