[OPLINLIST] Library as Wedding Venue

I was looking to hold my wedding (April 2015) at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s main library, and was told that this is not possible because it is a private event and does not fall under their policies for use by non-profit organizations and that all events held at the library must be free and (this is the important part) open to the public. Not sure if this holds true for all libraries. I know that the New York Public Library, for example, hosts weddings and other private events.  I would be curious to know what you find out, since I have not been able to find a library that allows weddings (including mine!)

Hello all!
Isn't life exciting? We have a beautiful Carnegie library and I just had a request from a bride-to-be asking if the library can be her venue for her fall 2015 wedding. I have to talk with my board and have asked her basic questions such as time, date, number of people, lighting (no candles), reception needs, etc. I would like to know if anyone offers their library as a wedding venue and if so, if you can send me your contract and/or list of conditions (such as cleaning deposit, fees, insurance, etc.)
