Hi Dia!

Hope you're well! We also have a "Librarian by Appointment" available. I
noticed similar fluctuation in attendance. Our "basic" classes were
drawing one or two people and oftentimes, zero. The device classes are
popular following the holidays, when people are getting them as gifts and
have no idea how to operate them, but soon after that, the attendance falls
off there, as well.

We have gotten great feedback on the "Librarian by Appointment." Every
member of the Reference staff is assigned a sort of "specialty;" e.g., I
take Apple products and Nooks, someone else the Kindle and, yet another
offers computer basics. We gather the patrons contact information and
inquire as to what they want to learn. The request goes to me and I pass
it on to the staff member best suited to handle the one-hour session.
Patrons really seem to appreciate the one-on-one attention and our
willingness to work around their schedules.
