We used USB to Serial Adapters on our old OmniPrint printers and on some
newer Epson printers we have. After the initial setup, they work
wonderfully. It saved the library a boat load on new printers as well.

Have you considered USB-to-Serial Adapters for your printers?

We have two Epson TM-T88IIIP receipt printers available. They are in fine
working order--we just needed to move to USB interface as these have a
serial interface. Serial printer cables included. Free to anyone and we are
on cargo.
