[OPLINLIST] Reminder: CSLP soliciting suggestions for 2017 SRP slogans and 2018 theme

Good morning,

A reminder that the opportunity closes this Friday, January 23, for us to suggest slogans, artists, and themes for upcoming summer programs of the Collaborative Summer Library Program.  Original announcement follows:

It is that time of the year when the Collaborative Summer Learning Program (CSLP) begins its search for slogans and general themes for upcoming years.  CSLP relies on the creative ideas of librarians around the country.  CSLP asks for your help and participation in developing the slogans for each of the age groups for the 2017 program year, and the general theme for the 2018 program year.

The CSLP is soliciting ideas from public libraries for:


  1.  SLOGANS for the 2017 CSLP children's, teen, and adult summer programs.  The general theme is Build a Better World / Construction / Architecture.
  2.  Artists/picture book illustrators for the 2017 children's program.
  3.  A general THEME or concept for the 2018 CSLP summer program.

For example, the 2015 general theme is HEROES/SUPERHEROES.  The 2015 children's slogan is "Every Hero Has a Story", the teen slogan is "Unmask", and the adult slogan is "Escape the Ordinary".  CSLP also offers an Early Literacy program, using the children's program slogan.

Submit up to three suggestions in each category (2017 children's, teen, adult slogans; 2018 theme).  You may suggest as many artists as you like.  You may skip any survey questions.   You may involve your coworkers, your library patrons, volunteers, TAB, etc.  This survey also provides an opportunity for you to give feedback on any aspect of CSLP services and resources.  Multiple staff members from your library may each complete the survey, which will be open until January 23, 2015.

The CSLP will review suggestions from all participating librarians nationwide, and will choose the 2017 slogans and 2018 general theme at its annual meeting in April.
