Meet Author Mindy McGinnis!

[http://tusclibrary.org/sites/default/files/images/288438_123956681077614_1899212736_o.jpg]The Tuscarawas County Public Library, in partnership with the New Philadelphia City Schools' 21st Century grant, will host dystopian teen fiction author Mindy McGinnis at its main location (121 Fair Ave NW, New Philadelphia) on June 17 at 1:30 p.m.


McGinnis' first book, Not a Drop to Drink, is a post-apocalyptic survival tale set in a world where fresh water is almost nonexistent. According to McGinnis, the idea for this book came from a dream she had after watching the documentary Blue Gold which detailed a projected water shortage.


Not a Drop to Drink is slated to be on the big screen. McGinnis' book caught the attention of Twilight series author Stephanie Meyers, and the two are currently collaborating to make the film adaptation of McGinnis' book, Not a Drop to Drink, through Meyers' production company Fickle Fish Films.


The author visit is not just for teens and tweens. Anyone who enjoys teen literature or has an interest in writing is welcome to attend.


Books will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow the program. This free program is open to all ages. Contact the library at 330-364-4474 ext. 101 for more information or to reserve your seat.
