Industry trends and forecasts will be the focus of the Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurship Series' Distinguished Speaker event when Jack Plunkett, CEO and Publisher of Plunkett Research, Ltd., discusses The Next Boom - What You Absolutely, Positively Have to Know about the World between Now and 2025.

Plunkett is a frequent public speaker and lecturer at industry events and on college campuses. His work has been widely covered by hundreds of magazines, newspapers and broadcast stations, including stories in USA Today and Inc. Magazine. He is frequently interviewed as an expert source by such publications as The Wall Street Journal and Investor's Business Daily, local and regional newspapers and national columnists.

Plunkett Research, Ltd. is a Houston-based provider of market research and industry information in printed and electronic formats. Plunkett is the author or editor of more than 30 books, Plunkett's Retail Industry Almanac, Plunkett's Entertainment & Media Industry Almanac, Plunkett's Advertising & Branding Industry Almanac, and Plunkett's Health Care Industry Almanac (winner of the American Library Association's CHOICE "Academic Book of the Year Award"). A life-long entrepreneur, he has been recognized as a finalist in the "Entrepreneur of the Year" competition sponsored by Ernst & Young.

He has been a keynote speaker, emcee or featured presenter for such organizations as the Global Retail Marketing Association, Microsoft, Wharton School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin, the Consumer Trends Forum International, and the Singapore Management University.
