Funny that you should mention that! Stark County District Library is just announcing today that we're hosting Doug Lipp - former head of Disney University -- in November. Doug will be joining our staff for our in-service day, but he will also be presenting in an event that is free and open to the public:

Who
Doug Lipp, author, speaker, and former head of Disney University - The Walt Disney Company's world-renowned staff development program.

What
We're issuing a special invitation to all libraries that are interested to come join us hear Doug speak about "How Disney University Develops the World's Most Engaged, Loyal, and Customer-Centric Employees." After his presentation, there will be a Q&A session and book signing. Doug is an engaging speaker and this would be a fantastic event for staff development.

When
November 11, 2015 at 10:00 am.

Where
The event will be held at the Canton Palace Theatre, next door to the Main Library in downtown Canton, Ohio. With 1480 seats, there's plenty of room for everyone.

A little while ago I watched a really good Webinar on customer service provided through Webjunction. It was about the Disney Parks method of creating excellent customer service... or rather, an excellent customer Experience.



Have any of you hosted, provided, or know of any great/similar opportunities for speakers to come to your library during, say a staff inservice day that have been helpful.
