I heard this story on Ohio NPR the other day. It features the nonpartisan think tank Center for Community Solution<http://www.communitysolutions.com/>, and a resource on their website designed for legislators to view compilations of census data specific to Ohio House and Senate districts. You may also find this resource valuable for accessing information about the communities your library serves. This compiled data may help you in planning programs and services, and explaining why your library is vital to addressing critical needs in your communities.

A statewide think tank that studies health, education and economic issues is presenting data on Ohioans in a new way: taking district-specific data directly to state lawmakers.

The Center for Community Solutions has been using U.S. Census data for its statewide, regional and city and county reports.  Researcher Kate Warren says now, for the first time, the data is broken down by Ohio House and Senate district, so lawmakers can see what's happening in the areas they represent.
