Do you have grandparents in your service area raising their grandchildren?
I bet you do!  100,000 grandparents in Ohio are raising their
grandchildren. The median age of grandparents raising grandchildren is
fifty-five and over half of these households have an annual income of less
than $30,000. Learn how the Toledo Lucas County Public Library presented a
lecture series connecting grandparents raising their grandchildren with
government officials, educators, and other resources to help them succeed.
This session will discuss the role youth librarians played in creating
programming to allow the grandparents to freely engage with the presenters.
Through collaborative efforts between the library and outside partnerships,
grandparents gained insights and tools to better raise their
grandchildren.  How can you help the grandparents in your community?
