Columbus Metropolitan Library Operations Center Tour

Join us for a behind the scenes tour of Collections Services at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, presented by Laura Simonds, the collection services manager. Attendees will learn about how CML centrally selects, catalogs and processes new materials for 23 branch locations, a collection of approximately 1.5 million items, and more than 17,000,000 circulation transactions per year. Tour highlights include an overview of library buying strategy, how the team utilizes Lean for process efficiency, and, of course, an insider look at all the titles coming soon to a location near you. If you’ve ever wondered how a title makes it into the library collection this tour, on Tuesday March 17, is for you.

We will have networking time at 9:30 and the tour will start at 10 at the Columbus Metropolitan Library's Operations Center, on 101 S. Stygler Road, Columbus, 43230.
