[OPLINLIST] CSLP additional resource packet for Summer Library Programs

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) has created and just released an additional resource packet for libraries to use as they re-imagine their summers.

This free resource includes ideas from current and past CSLP manuals that have been adapted in order to be used straight from the pages or altered for your particular needs. It contains six weeks of content highlighting early literacy, children, teens, adults, and families. The materials are divided by age group. They are designed to be distributed directly to patrons as printed packets, or online, in a way that works best for your library. All activities provided are intended for patrons to do at home and are little to no cost.

The resource also contains ideas and tips for libraries about outreach, partnerships and collaboration, incentives, and summer meals.

Download the new additional resource packet at https://www.cslpreads.org/. A PDF version is linked from the red box on the front page. The PDF version is easy to download and print as a single (255 page) document, or you can print individual pages or page ranges.

For a more editable, modular version of the additional resource packet, CSLP members are encouraged to sign into their CSLP account and access content from the online manual section. Once logged into the Online Manual:
1. Scroll down to the "Artwork and Program Files" section of the manual
2. On the righthand sidebar locate the "Summer 2020 Reimagined" category
3. Click on the checkbox to the immediate right of "Summer 2020 Reimagined" to bring up a list of all the files, or
4. Click on the "+" icon to the right to bring up the age group categories.

All Ohio public libraries are CSLP members and are welcome to use and distribute this resource.

CSLP online manual instructions:

  1.  Go to: http://cslpreads.org
  2.  You must have a CSLP login and password. If you are not registered on the CSLP website, create an account by clicking on Login in the upper right hand corner of the CSLP website, then click on Register underneath the login form (or just go directly to this link: https://www.cslpreads.org/wp-login.php?action=register) and complete the form. Be aware that registration is not automatic; your form will be manually reviewed and you'll be registered by CSLP staff within 1-2 days.
  3.  Then you can log in to the site. Once logged in, you will see a Manual Downloads option on the toolbar.
  4.  The first time you enter the Manual Downloads section, you must request the online manual access code for the 2020 manual by clicking on Obtain 2020 Online Access Code.
  5.  Choose the state code for Ohio.
  6.  Complete the request form with your: City, Library Name, first and last name, and email address and then click the Submit button.
  7.  The 2020 manual access code will appear on your screen and an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you. You should only share this code with those staff members in your building who have a CSLP website account.
  8.  Once you have the building access code, go back to the CSLP website Manual Downloads and click on: 2020 Online Manual. From here you will be able to see the full 2020 manuals to download or print any part you are researching.
