Young Appalachian Story Summit
Sunday, September 12, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tennessee

Do you know any young adults, 18-25(ish,) currently living or working in Appalachia (or are you one yourself)? The Young Appalachian Story Summit, an in-person event in Jonesborough, TN, is open to anyone in the Appalachian Regional Commission's region, which includes a swath of Appalachian Ohio counties extending from Ashtabula to Clermont County (see map: www.arc.gov/appalachian-counties-served-by-arc/<http://www.arc.gov/appalachian-counties-served-by-arc/> ). Registration is FREE and lodging is FREE for attendees traveling 100+ miles. Travel is the responsibility of the attendee.

The Young Appalachian Storytelling Summit is a young adult-led event that focuses on a critical issue: how young adults can use storytelling as a leadership tool to create Appalachia's future. Summit participants have the opportunity to hear from diverse voices within Appalachia; to understand how storytelling can help them take action in their own communities; and to join a network of like-minded young Appalachians to collaborate with beyond the event.

This year's theme is "Crossroads" where, through workshops, networking, panel discussions, and story circles, attendees will explore the crossroads of how their unique voices intersect with their wider communities and help shape Appalachia's future.
