Ritter Public Library is seeking a full-time Community Engagement Librarian.  As a member of the management team, the ideal candidate will collaborate with other staff to promote exceptional programming.

Qualifications: Candidates will possess a Master’s in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution. The Community Engagement Librarian should have experience with Drupal or website work, social media, and Office 365. Photo and video editing experience would be preferred.

Job Description: Under general direction, the Community Engagement Librarian supports the library mission by providing participation in community initiatives and coordinating internal and external programming. The Community Engagement Librarian will promote programs and services provided by Ritter Public Library. This position requires work with local media, creates publicity materials and assistance in the maintenance of the library’s website and social media presence. The position requites a high degree of independent initiative as well as collaboration with department staff and other departments.

Ritter Public Library is a school district library, established in 1918 by the Vermilion Board of Education.  Today the library, a member of CLEVNET, serves approximately 14,543 local residents.  Located on Lake Erie, 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland, Vermilion is a community with a summer population that brings greater numbers into the building.  The library is open 7 days a week and provides meeting spaces and programs for many.

A starting salary range of $35,798.40 - $38,298.40 negotiable depending on experience –will accompany a competitive benefits package. The qualified candidate must be available to work a rotating schedule, including evenings and weekends and occasionally split shifts. The hours vary from 35-39 hours weekly, depending on the schedule.
