[OPLINLIST] information retention

Hi- I am interested in how other libraries handle information retention
within their organizations as they prepare for staff changes and
retirements, i.e.- how are policies and procedures documented for new
employees, how is intrinsic, less quantifiable information shared and saved
over time? We have a retention policy for written documents, and try to
keep our policies/procedures manual updated, but I am specifically working
on a new framework of guidelines for those employees who will be using our
TLC cataloging module for the first time...
Any insights welcome!
