QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited university. One to three years of public service library experience preferred, with an emphasis in business, economic, and investment collection development, and government documents.  Knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of library science, as well as online reference resources is required.  A broad knowledge base of cultural literacy is essential. Readers' advisory skills necessary.  Comfort and familiarity with current information technologies. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies. Ability to communicate and function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong written, verbal, customer service and interpersonal skills.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Adult Services Manager, the Business Specialist / Librarian develops, plans, and implements business, economic, and investment programs and services and markets the collection. Develops partnerships and working relationships with local businesses and community groups.

HOURS
40 Hours per week.  Daytime, evening and weekend hours required.

SALARY RANGE
$20.19 - $27.31 per hour

CLASSIFICATION
Exempt, Librarian/Specialist; Salary Grade 320
