Presentation: Connecting History to the Classroom.

How can historians and museum educators connect their stories with students and teachers? One of the most effective ways to introduce students to these stories is through outreach programs presented in a classroom setting or at a historic site or museum. Participants will explore ways to build relationships with schools and teachers in the hopes of fostering a learning environment where students can explore history in ways that impact their daily lives. Techniques for creating, presenting, and evaluating these types of programs will also be offered.
