Massillon Public Library is looking for a full-time (34 hours per week) Technical Services Specialist.  Pay range is $13.68 to $17.55 depending on experience.  We offer Life, Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, and a generous Leave package.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*         High school diploma or GED required

*         6 months of directly related experience required

*         Library and Technical Services experience a plus

*         Experience using Sierra ILS Catalog module preferred

*         Basic computer and clerical skills required

*         Must have acceptable results on a criminal background check

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*         Process new materials, including unpacking, receiving, adding stamps, tags, and barcodes as needed, and entering item level information into ILS system

*         Process material for discard

*         Sort and mend damaged materials

*         Assist department Manager with monthly inventory

*         Create volume records for serial items like magazines, comics, and travel books, etc. under direction of Manager

*         Necessary physical aspects include, but are not limited to:  standing, sitting, operating office equipment, climbing steps, lifting up to 35 lbs., and pushing or pulling loaded carts

*         Follow appropriate cash handling procedures

*         Maintain regular and reliable attendance

*         Abide by established Library policies

*         Attend appropriate meetings and workshops

*         Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
