Manager, Programming and Events - Main Library (Full-time - 40 Hours/Week)
Salary (FLSA Exempt)
Job Summary
The Manager of Programming & Events develops and oversees delivery of system-wide programming that reflects the full diversity of interests across the District and represents the mission and values of the Library. Supervises a staff of 2-3 individual contributors; and indirectly guides approximately 25+ individual contributors who are responsible for programming and events in their respective locations.

Essential Functions
Programming

  *   Develops and oversees delivery of in-person and virtual programming system-wide; establishes staff roles, procedures, and policies for program-related workflows
  *   Works with Public Service Managers to coordinate the work of programming staff, including Librarians, and Library Specialists
  *   Develops and implements programs and initiatives to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the community
  *   Monitors the programming budget
  *   Collaborates with the Library's Marketing and Communications team to build public awareness of the Library's programming and events
  *   Oversees planning and implementation of patron technology and literacy training programs and staff training related to programming
  *   Maintains system-wide adult, youth, and technology training programming statistics and reporting

Staff Supervision

  *   Interviews, selects, onboards, instructs, cross-trains, and supervises department staff
  *   Sets performance measures, provides regular feedback, and holds staff accountable
  *   Interprets, explains, and upholds adherence to organizational policies, processes, and standard operating procedures
  *   Delegates and monitors special projects
  *   Ensures staffing levels support operating hours and functional needs of the Library
