Good Morning,

Things have calmed down considerably, and I haven't seen a news van for almost a week.  Hopefully, the news cycle has shifted elsewhere.  Recently I was in both Canada and North Carolina and everyone that we spoke to asked if all of the rumors were true.  It's sad that Springfield made the news both nationally and internationally for something like this.  We have in essence become a meme with any variety of animal in it (dog, cat, duck, goose ... Take your pick).  On the plus side we have received support from around the country, including materials, cards wishing us well, and several substantial donations to promote our services to the Haitian population.  If anything, all of this attention and nonsense has brought us closer as a library system and reinforced that what we do is important for everyone in our community.
