Children's Librarian, Lake Community Branch (Full-time - 40 Hours/Week)
FLSA non-exempt, Min: $19.11/hour

Lake Community Library, conveniently located in the Lake Community Center, (home to Lake Middle/High School, and the Lake YMCA), is looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working with babies, toddlers and elementary age school children through Grade 4 who has a strong understanding of child development and children's literature. Lake Community Library has a robust program schedule that are well attended. Lake also serves a large homeschool community and works with Lake elementary schools, making a Librarian an integral part of the Branch and its services. You will also provide frontline customer service at a variety of service points, conducting reader's advisory, and oversee the Children's collection.

Children's Librarian, Jackson Community Branch (Full-time - 40 Hours/Week)
FLSA non-exempt, Min: $19.11/hour

Jackson Community Library, located in Jackson Township, is seeking an experienced detail oriented and multi-tasking Librarian who thrives working in a fast paced, high-volume environment. The Children's Librarian serves a critical role in supporting early literacy development in our community as well as promoting creativity and imagination with storytimes, programming, outreach, and community engagement. In this role, you will work with caregivers, teachers, and community organizations. You will also provide frontline customer service at a variety of service points, conduct reader's advisory, and oversee the Children's collection.

Position Summary

An employee serving in these positions advances the mission of the Library by serving as a professional librarian, providing direct public service, programming, outreach, and collection management services and expertise.  This role is primarily responsible for providing leadership in a designated area/age group per the needs of the department or location.  The Librarian is also responsible for establishing and maintaining key external relationships (e.g., authors, publishers, organizations, etc.) on behalf of his/her location or department and representing the Library in various outreach capacities.  The Librarian, in conjunction with the Department or Branch Manager, helps set location goals for their own work as well as that of the rest of the staff and helps lead system-wide projects.
