Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Starting Salary: $24.00 per hour; Starting compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

Come join our team! The Barberton Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to serve as our Technology Manager. This newly created part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community while overseeing the Library’s technology infrastructure. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, may occasionally be required.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Since 1903, the Barberton Public Library has been an essential community asset. It is our mission to promote independent thought and community interaction by providing services and resources necessary for individuals to pursue educational, creative, personal, and professional interests.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technology Manager is responsible for supporting the Barberton Public Library’s mission by developing, implementing, and coordinating the Library’s electronic environment. Position duties include: overseeing the maintenance and operation of the Library’s technology, computer equipment and related software applications; managing the IT Help Desk; assisting and training staff and patrons on the use and capabilities of Library equipment and software; acting as the Library’s technology liaison with CLEVNET; maintaining the Library’s cybersecurity program; serving on the Library’s management team and providing input on strategic planning for the future of the Library’s technology services.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, as well as a minimum of two to four years of related work experience, are required. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of library technologies, including but not limited to telecommunication systems, servers, computers, printers, and security systems, and excellent communication skills.
