[OPLINTECH] Label printer

Can anyone recommend a label printer that will print labels that won't fade after a year or so? 
We currently use thermal label printers for our spine labels and after about a year or so the labels need to be replaced due to fading. 
Did the printer include label printing software?  If not what did you end up using?
