[OPLINTECH] Label printer

We are using Century printers with thermal transfer printing.  We purchased
them from BayScan in 2006.  www.bayscan.com

They are still running fine.  

I think they offer different printers now, but we have always been happy
with the thermal transfer printers.  They don't fade.

Can anyone recommend a label printer that will print labels that won't fade
after a year or so? 
We currently use thermal label printers for our spine labels and after about
a year or so the labels need to be replaced due to fading. 
Did the printer include label printing software?  If not what did you end up
using?
