Because of the recent changes in E-rate funding, there seems to be a lot of interest (i.e. a lot of questions) in the library community about the new emphasis on "Managed Internal Broadband Service," particularly Managed Wi-Fi. Perhaps this webinar will help:
Name: Information on Managed Wi-Fi
Date and Time: January 15 2pm-3pm
The FCC's E-Rate Modernization Order has added funding for "Managed Internal Broadband Service," with particular emphasis on increasing the managed Wi-Fi capacity for libraries. What is managed Wi-Fi? Do you need it in your library? This webinar, hosted by OPLIN and the State Library and presented by Joe Prchlik, Director of Operations and Technology at the Northwest Ohio Computer Association, will provide information that may help answer those questions. While OPLIN manages external broadband service for public libraries, managing local internal broadband services can help libraries keep pace with increasing Internet demands and provide valuable data about patron usage, and in many cases can leverage existing infrastructure to provide consistent quality network services for patrons.
