Back in February, I issued a call for nominations to fill three
openings on the OPLIN Board and received thirteen outstanding
nominations. On May 18, following the recommendation of the OPLIN
Board, the State Library Board appointed three people to three-year
terms on the OPLIN Board. The three are:
Jamie Black, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Loudonville
Public Library and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the
Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, who has been active in many civic
groups in Lucas County;
Justin Bumbico, the IT Manager of Infrastructure Services at the
Columbus Metropolitan Library, who has frequently worked with OPLIN
staff on network issues; and
Tara Sidwell, the Director of the Kate Love Simpson-Morgan County
Library, where she was previously a technology trainer working closely
with Connect Ohio in the Every Citizen Online program.
The field of candidates was exceptionally good this time, so the
selection committee took a lot of time to carefully choose the
candidates they thought would best represent all Ohio public
libraries. Many thanks to everyone who submitted names for
consideration, they were all excellent nominations.
