[OPLINTECH] Question about public computers at your libraries

To Joe's point about longevity and buying quality SSDs:

Just like anything, each manufacturer has its consumer and business lines
of products. If you dig into the specs for each model/line of SSDs, you'll
find variations in features, performance, and projected average MTBF (which
speaks towards longevity). In general, expect consumer-grade products to
perform less well and fail sooner, often indicated by manufacturer's
warranty...a business measure on the likelihood the business will need to
spend money on replacements.

You may/may not have the option/ability to choose components at this level,
but it's worth being aware of. This is the reason I still build the
computers I use in my libraries. I can pick the components with the best
price/performance ratio and have full control over the software bloat often
added by OEMs. (I *hate* all the extra crap that gets pre-installed!)
