[Seo-circ] Items Damaged Beyond repair by Patrons

In January, the SEO team implemented the new Lost & Paid items report. Since the implementation, the Symphony WorkFlows team has received a few questions concerning how damaged and paid items owned by other libraries are being reported. The team met to determine the best practice on how to bill a user for items owned by other libraries and damaged beyond repair.

Following this procedure creates a bill that will show up on the monthly Lost and Paid items report. Please note:

  *   If billing a patron, continue to use the DAMAGE bill reason for damages that can be repaired.
  *   For items belonging to other libraries that have repairable damage, check out to the DAMAGED user, attach a note describing the damage, and return to the home library.
  *   For your own items that are repairable, please checkout to your XYZMENDING user, where XYZ is your library code.
