[Seo-circ] Display Guideline Reminder

As we gear up for the busy summer reading season, this is a reminder about our procedures for borrowing materials from other SEO Member Libraries specifically for display purposes.

Please keep the following key points in mind:

  1.  Checkout Account: All materials borrowed for display must be checked out to your library's specific XXXDISPLAY account (where XXX is your library's code).
  2.  Loan Period: The loan period for these display items is 28 days.
  3.  No Auto-Renewal: Items checked out on the DISPLAY account are not eligible for auto-renewal. Due dates should not be extended past 28 days.
  4.  Monitoring Due Dates: Please actively monitor the items checked out on your DISPLAY account. While the Director's email is set up to receive overdue notices and SEO sends monthly listserv reminders, proactive monitoring ensures timely returns to the owning library.
  5.  Mindful Borrowing - Especially for Summer: With summer reading approaching, please be particularly considerate when requesting materials. Avoid requesting items for 'seasonal' themes (like summer reading) or 'hot program topics.' The owning library is likely to need those same popular materials for their own displays and programs during this peak time. Collaborative mindfulness helps everyone!

Adhering to this principle helps ensure materials are shared effectively and returned promptly to their home libraries. Your cooperation, especially as we enter the high-demand summer period, is greatly appreciated.
