[Seo-circ] Update: Handling Bounced Email Addresses

Hello everyone,

The SEO Team has begun adding a NOTE to patron accounts marked as "Do Not Contact" in Patron Point.

Here are some helpful resources:

  *   Common Bounce Reasons: SEO Support Site Article<https://support.servingeveryohioan.org/a/solutions/articles/69000874646?portalId=69000009265>

In brief:

  *   Most bounce reasons are "recipient: user unknown."
     *   This usually means the email address is no longer valid. In this case, remove the note from the account.
     *   If the patron's email address is correct, complete the Remove DNC form<http://seolib.org/dnc> or open a ticket with SEO.<http://support.servingeveryohioan.org/>
  *   If the patron marked the email as SPAM:
     *   We need written permission before sending messages again.
     *   Complete the SEO Notice Opt-In form<http://seolib.org/optin> or submit the paper form (attached) as a ticket to SEO<http://support.servingeveryohioan.org/>.
  *   If the email has a typo:
     *   Correct the email address and update Notify By.
  *   If the patron unsubscribed but wants to receive emails again:
     *   Complete the Remove DNC form<http://seolib.org/dnc> or open a ticket with SEO<http://support.servingeveryohioan.org/>.
